What To Do
The players sit around the parachute with their feet and legs under the parachute.
They take hold of the parachutes edges with both hands and rock back and forth, as if they are rowing, while singing:
‘Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily, Life is but a dream.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.
If you see a crocodile, Don’t forget to scream. Argh!’
Rules
Once the song is finished you can suggest that the players lie very still and finish off with a game of Sleeping Lions. In this game the players lie as still as they can under the para- chute. If you see them move, you touch them gently and they then very quietly and slowly stand up and move out of the circle.
