St Jude’s C of E Primary Academy and Holy Trinity CE Primary Academy, Birmingham. Well- Being at Work Workshop
Prior to attending Therese Hoyle’s Wellbeing at Work conference workshop our schools had undergone a lot of change, becoming part of a multi academy trust. With change always comes uncertainty and anxiety, so we wanted to focus on our staff’s wellbeing.
Therese delivered an after-lunch keynote session to 135 + staff. Her session was lively and engaging and everyone benefitted. It was great to see the two schools coming together, having time to share, laugh, reflect and value each other.
The feedback has been incredibly positive. Comments included:
- Good, with lots of advice for life and not just work.
- Loved being able to do the 5-minute mediation – reminded me to do it more often.
- Very interactive and informative. Useful techniques and ideas to improve wellbeing.
- It was insightful to look at ourselves in a positive way. I enjoyed the mindfulness activity
- It was nice to reflect on some of the methods or new habits that I can take up.
- Found it really interesting and it has made me think more about myself than others
- Really good to iterate how and why we should look after ourselves
- Very interesting. Found out ways I can balance myself/self-care.
The ongoing benefits are a more united team, staff more reflective of their own wellbeing, which then has a positive impact on the children.
Many thanks

“Thank you so much for generously giving your time and expertise yesterday. We so enjoyed your session and have had great feedback from colleagues and friends who were listening. it is interesting how some potentially negative influences can accumulate over a period of time if one does not take the opportunity to reflect and evaluate their worth.
Once again, thank you for being a part of our first MSJ Festival of Wellbeing.
With infinite gratitude!”
