What To Do
The children squat down and hold the parachute taut on the ground.
When someone shouts, ‘One, two, three, mushroom,’ the children all rise up to full height with arms above their heads to inflate the parachute. A giant mushroom is formed.
Have the players stand still and watch as the parachute settles slowly to the ground. Play- ers take it in turn to call out, ‘One, two, three, mushroom.’
Rules
VARIATIONS: Instead of one, two, three, mushroom, the player could call out the name of any fruit or vegetable, for example, ‘Carrots, potatoes, broccoli, mushroom.’
Floating Mushroom – the same as mushroom except on ‘mushroom’, everyone releases the parachute at the same time (ideally!) and the parachute floats up to the sky!
This game involves teamwork, is not hard and looks really stunning – a great photo oppor- tunity!
